LAML SPOTLIGHT: EFE OGOLO

One of the keys to living a meaningful life is embodying a heart of service.  However, in a world so fixated on "I" and not "Us", the word service gradually looses its relevance. Our daily life is infused with messages such as "treat yourself", "live large" -  messages that slowly seep into our subconscious and… Continue reading LAML SPOTLIGHT: EFE OGOLO

The tension between feeling blessed and stressed

KANAYO

There are moments where the phrase “too blessed to be stressed” couldn’t be further from the truth for me. I’m not sure where the phrase came from, however, I do agree that it is appealing to the ear and the concept sounds good.

But what do you do when the blessing from God is weighty? What do you do when His blessings are so overwhelming and you don’t feel like you have the strength to carry them? What do you do you when what God has given you appears to be a blessing on the outside to onlookers, but is secretly a burden to you mentally and physically? Are you still too blessed to be stressed? Do you feel guilty about feeling stressed when you have a blessing before you?

Stress is a physical and psychological response to various stimuli in our environment. Our psychosomatic response has three options; fight…

Growing Pains…

Just Meeks Speaks

Where do I begin? in fact, I’ll begin with myself… (usually a good place to start.)

Can I be real with you? So I’ve been praying for God to reveal Himself to me, I’ve been yearning to experience Him like never before. I want more of Him. I don’t know about you but I’m nowhere near satisfied with where I’ve been and what I’ve seen. So I’ve been praying….

And I was thrown into a valley and I’ve been in this valley for a while now.

And I’ve been asking God why.

And I’ve been asking God to take me out of this valley.

Because I don’t like it. It’s uncomfortable and was making me miserable.

And then God revealed to me, that unfortunately, what I have been asking of Him, doesn’t happen in the mountains. What I’ve been praying to Him for doesn’t happen in my comfort zone. GROWTH

Diaries of a Saved Youth

SANDRA ADEYEMI

Dear Diary,

image3

My name is Emi, and I’m 23. I’m living a meaningful life, and I know I was born to make an impact. Right now, I work as a reporting analyst for a telecommunications company, and I also run my business, Meso Eats, on the side. I love cooking!!! And that’s what my business is all about. A company that is set to change the way African food is experienced. We eliminate all the hassle of cooking and cleaning by delivering flavor-packed meals. It’s not the easiest thing balancing both with many other commitments I have, but Jesus has been the Center of it all, and He is constantly guiding me through it all and giving me strength for each new day.

Yes! Jesus! Jesus is my root. It’s been two years and two months with Abba, and we are still going strong! I wouldn’t trade it for…

Why is it that everyone else is getting married and I'm not even in a relationship? Why are things not working out for me? Why am I not happy? God,… Continue reading Trusting God’s Timing

Why Do Bad Things Happen?

It's a flawed question. It's difficult to truly answer. We can't truly answer to everyone's satisfaction. We may have opinions about the answer but it's impossible for your opinion to agree with everyone else. We don't stop to ask if we are asking the right question. Maybe the question is based on flawed thinking. If… Continue reading Why Do Bad Things Happen?
